A day late for phaser Friday, but gotta post up some multi waveform modulation builds. Both have been in progress for longer than my usual for one reason or another. First, the fabled Lectric Mama flanger. Not much to say that hasn’t been already. This ain’t your dad’s flanger, although those sounds can be found here. This is an experimentalists flanger. 8 waveforms going from traditional sine to random arpeggiated modultion. Thanks to @Chuck D. Bones @cooder and @fig for a fun, unique little project. Pics:

Next is the Deadend FX Calypso. Very similar to the Lectric Mama in that it also uses an Electric Druid Stomplfo chip so has access to the same 8 waveform options. This is a clone of the Spaceman Explorer phaser. 6 stages of chewy, delicious optical phasing. As with all DEFX projects, requires a non standard box (1590c) and you to lay out jack placement. This is a stacked board project requiring spacers. I used 12mm so the headers are not quite flush. 12mm raised the boards enough that it didn’t allow for top jacks. Also, the header spacing is a little “off” requires 9 pins, but the pads are not spaced to allow 3x3 Tayda pin headers and even a 10 pin “fits”, but not exactly comfortably. Art work is a common wood nymph butterfly (family Nymphalidae) because Calypso was a Nymph in Greek mythology and I dig nature. Ink jet on waterslide. If you haven’t checked out DEFX projects, you need to. They have cool, unique projects, even with the box/board idiosyncrasies. Pics:
