Marigold Transistors HFE

Hi,
i've read a lot about this Marigold build (big up to @Chuck D. Bones and @mdc !) and there something that still blurry for me.
Q3 with an oc140, sounds great, and close to the original within the 80 HFE range.

But for Q1(bc107) and Q2(bc109C), i experimented different results.
My Q2 BC109C is around 520 HFE.
But having tested some Q1 BC107 from 120 to 400 hfe, the FX response really changes.
I've BC107B (HFE=320) and old BC107(from 100 to 350). I still can't figure out which one is closer to the original.
Do we have a clear information about which hfe is used for q1 and q2 in the original?

thanks!

It's always speculation unless you have an original, take the transistors out and then measure them.

Keep in mind that even when the original gain ranges used by the manufacturers are known, they are often guides and the actual transistor specs varied from unit to unit.

If it sounds good, it is good. Don't overthink it.
