Mini Muffin Fuzz 1590A Build

Just finished my 2nd build, the Pedal PCB MiniMuffin in a 1590A. I’m trying to build some fuzzes in these enclosures due to space on the board, and well, I have no fuzz pedals. Overall, came out nice.
Swapped the germanium 1N34As with 1N4148s to improve output level and kept the pot at A100k.
Every thing fit in fine and used low profile electrolytic caps for space. Next 1590A, I’ll definitely use open jacks.

My experience with this circuit is that it has no headroom so I am wondering if your silicone diode sub give it much more?

I mean, it does, but it’s the smallest amount. Still does improve the circuit IMO. Instead of leaving the pot cranked to 100%, I can get different sounds at 70% and 85% ish without it draining the overall output

It is very underpowered but glad you could get some headroom. I used a muffin crumb to boost volume. I will build another one soon and I might try to breadboard it first to see what I can tweak. Or I may add another crumb. Anyway, cool to see that you stuffed this in a 1590a.

Thanks man. I’m going to try the Copper Clad and Sandspur in 1590as next. I saw your post on the Sandspur and it encouraged me to do it. I’m going to make one in a 125b first with sockets for transistors to see which ones I want, I doubt I’ll have room for sockets in the 1590a.

Cool beans. I have a few things I can send you that I have doubles on. A jig for 1590a drilling - modified a bit but works great (I got a new one)... and a 10mm rocket socket for potentiometers. If interested dm me your address. If not interested maybe someone else is.

Thank you very much, but Im already made a jig from wood. I do some woodworking and I make jigs for practically every job I do with drilling or doweling. You’re posts help me plenty enough!
