Minnow Not Working

harumph.

following the rabbit hole of other minnow troubleshoots has only scrambled my brain worse. hoping one of y'all can help me get this bad bitch up and running!

at first I thought there was no output (assumed ground), until cranking the amp. I still didn't have a signal, but I was hearing clicks... said clicks (or thumps, or thuds, or whatever) do match the tempo of the rate LED, which is adjustable via the Speed pot.

All parts sourced from reputable retailers - except IC3 which I got on amazon. I've had success with the same batch of chips in the past.

So, that questionable LM13700 was at least partly culpable… I busted out the audio probe and signal dies in IC3 - when on S/H mode, the probe does some wild stuff at pin 2. The thumps ramp up to max speed (LED Rate changes as well).

I replaced it with a different chip & now I get guitar signal coming through, but it definitely ain’t right.

If I strum really hard, the board produces some filtered sound. But it’s seemingly random/doesn’t happen consistently & doesn’t sound at all like the notes im playing. Just sort of a Star Wars blaster pew pew kinda deal.

I haven’t measured the “new” voltages, but do they even matter right now? Anyone out there can help a stranded space cadet? 🙏
