Mod Boosta Grande

Hi, dear all! I want to mod my BBE Boosta Grande a bit. I want to make the treble cut off much less drastic and also make the volume potmeter to be able to cut volume (and not boost only)

To change the treble cut off:
change the feedback cap (C6?) to 47pF (like MXR micro amp)

To make the volume pot also go to 0db: solder a 1M resistor from the wiper of the potmeter to ground.

Could this be right? Or are there better mods for the boosta grande?

Thanks a lot, I am new to modding circuits and want to dubbelcheck berfore I ruin the pedal... :-)

If anyone wants to try this mod, I figured it out myself yesterday. The cap on my white with red lettering version wasn't under C6, but C4. I changed it to 220 pF and the mod works perfectly. It has more sparkle in the highs, a more pleasant boost that feels right now.

I haven't done the other mod with the potentiometer yet, it works fine like this too

Hi.
If you change the feedback cap surely you can bright it up the boost. The original cap is a 5.6nF, thought the resistor in parallel is not so high, just a 10k. But I advice to test some value. Try a 1nF, and if it still sounds too much muddy for you ear try a ceramic smaller cap.

The potentiometer is a gain control, not a volume, like the MXR Micro Amp, this is the reason you can cut the overall volume. Probably even at min this pedal boost a little bit, right?

Heu Elijah, thanks for helping! that's right, even at zero the pedal still boosts a little bit. But I decided to leave it like this right now.

The most important was to get rid of the treble cut, for me that was really not working. With the 220pF cap it really sounds much better, it was the only one that I had here at home and for me it's perfect right now. The only thing i was stressing about, that on the PCB the cap was not labeled C6, but C4, but i followed the trace from pin 6 of the opamp and found the cap like this in parallel with the 10k resistor, was indeed a 5,6nF cap.
Was a bit thinkering for me since it was my first time modding a pedal... :-)
