The Mondo Power Unit has "got what amps crave", according to the PCB.
It's a circuit that Dunwich Amps designed and described as "a simple little bass preamp/OD but it has a massive low end bump." That bump, or boost, is supposed to be at 50Hz. It sure does go BOOM when you hit the Bass Boost footswitch!
And as a little extra, it also doubles as an amp, driving cabs down to 4 Ohm, thanks to the big cap, if I understand things correctly.
With my 2x12" at home, it can get easily loud enough to annoy the neighbours.
I'm getting to the bottom of my PCB drawer and there I found this PCB. Mr. Dunwich hooked me up with a handful of PCBs right after closing shop a few years ago and this one was still left, so yeah, let's build it!
