Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

Haven't built much lately, so I'm still making my way through the backlog, including last year's Moonn order. I was excited by the Space Is Fun, but I should have read more about the Reverberation Machine first, as I was underwhelmed in the end by how dark and noisy this thing is (not Moonn's fault--that's just how this circuit is). Sat unboxed for months until someone said they wanted it (knowing full well what it was like), so here we are! Sounds better boxed up, actually and I've been having fun with it after my expectations settled, but I've got a Troglodyte to build to replace it anyway.

Added the dry kill on a mini toggle, feedback stomp switch. Tried to be clever with a little piece of perf for the LED CLRs and extra ground & 9v connections, but that may have been more of a pain in the end (also one of the board traces to the Belton lifted, but that was easy to re-route).

Still have the (Moonn Dromtydning (DBA Echo Dream 2) to try, so we'll see how that goes

The Reverberation Machine is kind of like a moped- It can be really fun, but you wouldn’t want to be caught by your friends using one.
I feel like it's kind of the opposite---It's got this niche street cred for noise dudes who love to have one on their boards, but builders scratch their heads at why it's so popular. Whatever the case, as someone who used to ride a scooter and misses it, I'm all for whatever makes you happy

My guess is that with a verb before Fuzz pedal the verb needs to be darker.
There are other pedals that do a similar sound (distorted reverb) that don't make your dry signal dark too though (also this has a bright/dark setting for the reverb).

My understanding from folks who know more than I do about electronics is that this circuit is just under-designed and sort of slapped together in a way that works sort of well enough (it's also noisy and the gain is sputtery, as it's just relying on overdriving the opamp, not a "proper" gain/clipping stage)

I like the Dromtydning a whole lot, more interesting to me than space is fun in all it's dimensions.

I didn't think that the space is fun fuzz setting is that interesting at all, and the sound of a Belton brick oscillating I REALLY don't like.

Good to know! I have so many delays to build (always more in the queue).

For what it's worth, while I agree about the gain on the Space Is fun, I don't mind the Belton sound at all
