Muzzle range switch question

Is the range switch on the Muzzle something that should be mounted internal or external on the enclosure?
Is it something you would use often?
if I wanted it external , Would this be an spdt on/on or on /off/on toggle?
Any thoughts from someone who is already built this would be appreciated.

It is used:

“... to change the threshold range if you are injecting a large signal into the input and not using the key input.”

generally if you use it after a boost pedal thats boosting a lot into your amp, set it to high, if not keep it on low
