Neurocyton > UniCab in a 1590XX

Hey, guys!

I'm trying to build an amp-in-a-box by putting a Neurocyton Preamp and a UniCab in a 1590XX enclosure. Ideally, I'd like two footswitches so the two effects can be used individually if desired. I'd also like to incorporate an FX loops activated by a toggle switch if that's possible. First of all, does anyone see any obvious reasons why any of this may not work? If we're good so far, I have two main things I'm wondering.

1. What is the best way to power both circuits with one power jack? Is it as simple as soldering the wires together into one and just connecting it to the power jack as normal? Or is there something more complicated I'll have to do?

2. How is that toggle switch gonna work? I basically just need it to toggle between sending the signal from one footswitch straight into the other OR sending the signal to a send jack and getting the new signal from the return jack (more like how the two separate pedals would've worked in the first place).

Thanks so much in advance!

What about a "switching-jacks FX Loop"?

The idea is that if nothing is inserted in the loop, then the signal goes straight through, but as soon as you insert a jack into the loop it interrupts the straight-through switch and signal goes to whatever effect(s) you've stuck in the loop. Just unplug whatever's in the loop when you don't need it.

Personally, I'd go with a footswitch for the loop, not a toggle. With a 1590XX, you could easily fit three footswitches, so why not make the loop footswitchable? (You may prefer to have it on a toggle for your needs, whatever works for you!)

Where you place the loop in your pedal's signal chain is up to you, but I'm guessing you want PREAMP > LOOP > CAB-SIM, so just treat it like three separate effects that just so happen to all share the same enclosure... the enclosure as "pedalboard".

That exists? That would be perfect! How does that switch work? Is it a certain type jack? Can you send a link to one?

This will help for your first question. Or you can get a small piece of stripboard to break out the dc to each circuit

This will help with your second question
Thank you so much! Okay, so how does breakout board work?

Oh my gosh, I did not know that page existed. That's so helpful to have those wiring diagrams for all the 2-in-1 options! The only thing is an FX loop version is not included. 😕 I feel like it should be pretty simple though, right?
