NGD ‘94 Fender Strat Japan

I bought this guitar last week from a coworker for a really good price. He let me take it home to try it out over Memorial Day weekend and on Tuesday I knew I definitely wanted to keep it. I even considered selling one of my other guitars, at which my wife said that if I felt that way I should just get it. You know how romcoms go: go to her!!! So I did. It may not seem like much from the pics but this is a fantastic sounding and playing Strat. I have always liked Strats and I’m ashamed to say I never owned one (well, not a Fender). But now that’s corrected and the universe is in harmony again. Take that Thanos.

I almost forgot, I recorded a few audio clips with my phone last night. Forgive the mistakes and crappy audio quality, but hopefully they showcase some of the tones.

Some clean tones on Ruby my dear:

A cool riff from ‘Til Tuesday (I love the guitarist’s work on their first album):

And just some pentatonic riffing with questionable tempo:

Nice guitar!

The fit and finish on that look very similar to my Fernandes MIJ Strat from around that time. It’s been my most played guitar for probably 20 years. The only thing I changed on mine was I went from the bent steel saddles to some solid brass ones I had and I changed the pickup from the ceramics that came in it to some fender Yosemite’s.
