I'm back into making pedals. The first one I made was in 2001 using a pcb layout that I used etch and a drill to make my own board. I wonder what happened to that tremelo pedal. Anyway I heard about the Klon and wanted one for myself.

First power on - didn't work. I forgot to put the ICs into the brackets.

Second try - didn't work. No power. The multimeter provided the clue there was no power at the socket. Using the trace feature, I found the pins I was using was incorrect. If you're using this bulkhead from tayda, it's worth doing a multimeter test (unless the data sheet makes sense, to me it was unreadable).

Third try - we have power. Sounds incredible.

Notes for future builds:

I seem to have put two LEDs in upside down. Other people put them down. I also found "This side down" on the breakout board confusing. I've seen another thread that soldered it in, so I know I'm not the only one.

The magic diodes - I didn't use germanium, too pricey for me. I swapped in 1N5817.

My drill pattern - I'd probably give a little more room to the footswitch if I did it again.

Graphics - I wanted to do a Blink 182 take on the centaur. I'd give the knob graphics more room if I did it again.

Footswitch topper - from ali express.

Overall - great build, sounds incredible.
