I'm sure the first thing I ever heard from Yma Sumac was in a dream sequence in the Big Lebowski. Afew years later, I saw Death to Smoochy and recognized the same distinct voice in 2 scenes so I looked her up. She had a 5 octave voice which is bonkers. I don't think I have much beyond 2.

I used to date this crazy talented opera singer who was able to perform the "Queen of the night" aria who would absolutely struggle to hit some of these notes/intervals.

My go to wind down song lately. Resavoir’s Sunset. A beautiful warbly synth meander from a great jazz musician. This captures the feeling of my head hitting a comfortable pillow after a long day.

I became aware of Fuensanta seeing her doing silly dances with Louis Cole in this video.

So i looked into her and she has quite a voice and an writes some interesting tunes. I wasn't expecting Louis Cole to appear on her gig so that's fun too. Dude's got range.
