This came today I haven’t used it a ton but I’m pretty happy so far. My plan is to use it after the preamp as a more flexible alternative to the Unicab. I’m hoping I will be able to get a fuller yet still articulate sound for my amp less setup. So far so good.
It seems well made. I was initially impressed with how heavy it felt out of the box. For parts it has 12 TL072s, a couple SGM 3209 charge pumps and 2 SMD transistors one marked 8v4 and one LG. A few of the pots that I can see are marked Alpha.
As far as sound it is more subtle than the other parametric I have with the 10DB cut boost vs the 18 and 20 on my other 2. I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing. I do wish the cut was a bit wider on the highest and lowest slider to emulate a HPF and LPF but seems ok as is. Using cuts it is dead quiet, I think it is on par or maybe a bit quieter than the other EQs I have used on boost. The level knob I believe is passive or has only a slight amount of boost but I think I might prefer it to the gain knob on the Unicab. Turned down no sound passes. All in all I think might be the second factory made pedal to make its way into my permanent collection and I think it is a ridiculous value at $130.
