Holy cow, this thing rocks! I'm obsessed with Zeppelin tones, especially live Marshall from 72-ish, and man does this thing do that in spades. Which is likely the intention, as Tommy seems to be a fellow Zep freak too.
I own the older mini Albion, and while it sounds great, it's very bright, and the treble knob doesn't do much at all It's bright with it all the way down even.... The newer one has a presence control instead, which is more effective, and less bright out of the box as well.
There is a new switch, on/off/on between Plexi, something in the middle I'm not certain of, and metal panel. Gives a nice change of voice without drastically altering the core tone.
I've built basically every MIAB I can get my hands on (except for the Bogner La Grange PCB I have staring at me on the bench...), bought a few I can't build, and I think I may be done. Granted I've said that before, but this might really be it! Probably. Most likely. I think. We'll see. It's my 4th Lumpy/Electric Majik pedal, and I've yet to be disappointed. His Albion 6971 Hiwatt-style is basically as good as this one too.
Tommy's work is amazing, the guts are incredibly clean Vero, his artwork and enclosures are gorgeous, and I'm happy to buy when I can't build. And it doesn't hurt that his prices are phenomenal!
