I finally procured an expression pedal. That was enough reason to scrounge up the parts for this one. It doesn’t qualify for the PHB contest though.
The depth of my expression input was off at first. Swiss file to the rescue. Fortunately, the plastic washer for that jack covers the hack job almost entirely. One thing that really helped was soldiering only the center pin on the pots, allowing for some extra wiggling to get it in the enclosure. Besides that, the build is pretty straightforward. I decided to cover the external LED rather than wrap the LED/LDR. It works fine.
I really love this thing. To me, way more fun than a wah pedal. Going between timbre sweeps and then controlling the pitch when the pedal drops into self-oscillation is super cool.
