Ocelot : some echo...

I've just boxed my Ocelot Octave yesterday. I've never used one or the original before so I have a few questions. I want to know what is normal or not.

Parts where sourced from Tayda and ICs and transistors are socketed.

1. Sounds a little glitchy/distorted, I may try some shielded cable on the jacks when I get some.
2. I just sometimes get an echoed note if I play hard (I'm on a bass). Not thought of testing, dry, oct1 and 2 alone.
3. The pots are popping ... mostly oct1. I've had to run short wires on them to make space for a battery in the 125B.

Following your answers and once the wires are shielded, I'll possibly post in the troubleshooting thread with pucs of the board and everything.

With my Ocelot, I will get some “echo” notes. To me, it is like a delay in the note. It is more noticeable with faster play or multiple notes. I have assumed it was a limitation of the pedal.

As for the distortion, I think others have commented on it. From my memory, the shielded cables have worked. I have not had much trouble with this issue, but I always have my bass lines with a little overdrive/distortion. So, my style may mask the issue.
