Omniwrench Distortion - Marshall Guv'nor

Breadboard Baker
This build has been a long time coming for me and means something special. Why? Well, once I got my breadboard up and running over this summer I decided on a whim to put together a Marshall Guv'nor (PedalPCB Guvernator). If you look around in the test kitchen you'll find this build. The stock circuit really hit home for me so I pulled the trigger on a board.

God, I miss soldering! Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy breadboarding, but soldering really hits home for me even from a therapeutic standpoint. The only mods I did were to socket R5 and C5 to increase the gain potential. Right now I've got a 1m resistor and a 330pf cap combo to give it some more gain. This is a simpler circuit to make, but I had a lot of fun.

The enclosure is taken from the Ratchet and Clank video game series. In case you don't know anything about the games it's a more family oriented game where the point is to blow $&*! up with ridiculous weapons. It's a very fun game to pass a few afternoons. I put in a super bright white LED and it can be blinding at times, so don't stare into the light!

Anyway, I consider this my Christmas gift to myself. Now, time to play some Megadeth!!!!

While I really enjoy this pedal as a decent MIAB, it's very quiet. The tone stack cuts lots of dBs and needed a bit of love. So, what did I do? Why, put in a LPB-1 right after the circuit, of course! A quick, simple build/mod to match the volume of my other dirt pedals.
