Origin Effects Revival Drove and UA Ox Stomp

In my continuing ampless quest to rid myself of my hard earned cash I’ve been using full Revival Drive and an Ox Stomp recently. I got the RD used as new price is crazy but I gotta say it’s so much fun to play. Having two channels comes in handy and the feel and sound is absolutely awesome. It reacts to pedals unlike any other amp sim I’ve used. Cleans up very well but when pushed you can really get this gnarly pushed vintage amp sound.

Combined with the OX Stomp I think I’m actually done looking for amp and cab sim. I love that RD is analog and the OX is really great sounding. OX has its issues like all the UA effects. Mobile app is dogshit and BT implementation is terrible. In my setup I’m fine dealing with it.

Anyone else using one or both of these pedals? It’s made me appreciate my commercial and diy pedals more. The best thing I can say with this vs other modeler options is I think I will ultimately be needing less drive pedals now as I can really get what I need by a boost pedal and the onboard mid boost on the RD. I have some other drives like the halberd and the protein providing very specific sounds.
 
I’m using the Ox Stomp with a UAFX Lion 68, Tonex and a Bogner Ecstasy 100b into a Suhr Reactive Load. Don’t have a lot of issues with the UA App. Ox Stomp goes into a number of Strymon pedals.
 
OX Stomp and Lion here too. I love this combo but I think the OX Stomp is the MVP.

I had the Ruby as well but the Lion can get chimey so it felt redunant have both.

My end chain is Lion>OX Stomp>H90>LVX>Mercury X. Ox Stomp starts the stereo chain with mics medium panned etc.

Nice! Yeah I’m debating selling or keeping my Tonex. I don’t think I need both (or maybe that’s all I really need..). The OX Stomp is great. My issues with the app come down to consistent Bluetooth connection especially if the app closes or display goes dark and some UI bugs (I run a team of devs at work and it always frustrates me to see easily fixable things in professional products).

Also I know this is a broken record but man if UA would just add midi to these pedals I would be over the moon. I get the appeal to simplify and not use midi but with all the different eq, delay, reverb, and compressor options in the OX that are only accessible from the app I would love to make presets and control from my HX Effects. I mean jeez the effects in the stomp are so good I could probably get by with the delays and reverbs in a super simple rig.

That’s an interesting dilemma but I think I would have also stuck with the Lion.

Also damn man you are allllllll set in the mod/delay/reverb department!
