Hi all,
I’m stuck debugging the octave section of a Parentheses Fuzz and would appreciate any ideas. The fuzz and boost section seem to do what they should, but when turning the octave pot fully up, the signal becomes very quiet and almost clean, but no octave effect is audible.
What I’ve checked so far:
- D1 / D2 correctly oriented
- Tried BAT41, BAT46, 1N5817, D9E, D9K (all matched)
- Replaced C4 / C5 with new 100 nF film caps, cause i thought one of them might be broken, but i guess no
- Double checked all the resistors in the octave section
- Replaced Q3 / Q4 / Q5
- Replaced Q3 with 2N3906: no change
- Continuity checked octave section and footswitch wiring
Here are my transistor voltages (measured to ground):
Q2
E: 0.236 V
B: 0.795 V
C: 6.5 V
Q3
E: 7.1 V
B: 6.5 V
C: 1.726 V
Q4
E: 3.75 V
B: 4.302 V
C: 8.83 V
Tried searching the forum but nothing helped me fix my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
