This thing is so much fun. A hot rodded fuzz face from Skreddy with transistors I tried out.
Lower gain transistors — roughly in the 120-250hfe that sounded good to me. No gut pictures because there’s a couple nicked caps from the soldering iron.
It is quite a bit brighter than most fuzzes, but that’s how it was designed. Wide range of adjustment and the body control controls the mid/bass which brings in some gain and really pushes this pedal. If you’re thinking about it: build it! Try out a bunch of different transistors!
I put it in a repurposed AionFX enclosure (from a Rat kit that I didn’t build but PIF’d). LoveMySwitches 20mm green aluminum knobs - these look better than the Boss Green ones I had. I had to use a smaller knob in the middle because of knob size.
