I like overdrive with options, (switches and knobs) and I like most Wampler pedals. The switch on this one makes subtle changes to tone. I prefer the switch set at "Linked". From what I read: Link mimics the old-school technique of "jumping" or "bridging" the inputs on a vintage 1950s Fender amp. It runs both the Normal and Bright channels into each other, resulting in a hotter, fatter, and higher-gain tone with more sustain. The trimmers needed to be significantly adjusted.

This thing uses 6 J201s and no op amps. There are three internal trimmers and I usually leave them alone, but this sounded bad out of the gate. When I first plugged it in it was sputtering and spitting. I had to tweak the trimmers by ear. Once I got it settled it got Timmy like transparency with the gain rolled off and level turned up. It has a lot of heavy distortion as well. I am not sure I would build another because it is not all that different than the Angry Charlie or the hundreds of OD pedals out there.

For this build I used a film-free decal which was covered with SprayMax 2k Gloss Clear. The knobs are 15mm gold aluminum. I like the PPCB top jack plates and I used one on this pedal. The jacks are switchcraft and the footswitch is a soft click with a PPCB breakout board. The switch is a DPDT Taiway on/off/on. I also used the preferred wiring for the footswitch breakout board.

It is easy to get around on this board and the layout is great.
