All knobs work as expected and the tone is very good. I understand that all drive pedals will add some noise (I have built a bunch), but this seems excessive. A couple of notes:
1) Bypass sounds fine with no extra noise, so I am assuming there is not a jack grounding issue,
2) I swapped the 4558s with TL072s and there was very little difference. I did this just to rule out the ICs as the culprits.
3) I was out of 15n caps, so I rolled my own with MLCCs using 10n and 4.7n in parallel. Could this be a cause?
I will post pictures/clips if needed, but do you guys think my homebrewed 15n caps could be the issue? Is this an inherently noisy pedal?
