I'm fairly committed to building all the bass related circuits that I can find. One should appreciate every bone they're thrown. This's one I was especially excited about because:
1. my frequency interchange is excellent
2. the flip top vibe is way up my alley
3. I've never seen one of these in a guitar shop

While I definitely expected to like this one, I am more happy with it than anticipated. It sounds amazing clean but you can get some dirt out of it with the gain dimed, it takes dirt pedals nicely, the cab sim sounds good, the eq controls are simple yet powerful, it also sounds great plugged straight in to my fx return.

I honestly have nothing bad to say. I'm guessing someone out there will wish they had more than one cab to choose from or something but it is quite nice that the proper 15" cab sound is there if desired. I only wish that I had a real vintage fliptop to compare it to. I have built the R.O.G. Ginger which is another stab at a similar sound also utilizing jfets and no hate but the Capsize absolutely destroys the Ginger. Aside from the cab sim they have similar controls but the Capsize is vastly more versatile.

I do play a precision bass with flats which is an obvious choice to plug into this pedal, I wonder what the active pickup folks would think. Another beautiful layout and easy build, the trimmers were a little fiddley to dial in so maybe don't use the cheap ones like I did. The alexandrite finish from SBP is difficult to photograph but it is beautiful.
