Took on the challenge of fitting this into a 1590B. And quite a challenge it turned out to be, using low height caps to ensure that the lid closes (been there, done that dept).

The original used a 10uF tantalum as a space-saver, which I managed to install backwards. Very distorted output and both said cap and the voltage regulator got fairly hot. I removed it and soldered a correctly orientated, 'normal' 10uF on the opposite side of the board (not visible here). That did the trick, glad to say.

The kludged LED with masking tape is strictly temporary BTW while I rack my brains for a more elegant solution.

Ray Bradbury was so much a part of my reading fare as a youngster, so celsius became centigrade became fahrenheit and the 451 had to be tacked on in his honour.

That said, how does it sound? Fabulous clean boost with a touch of hair on the high setting and great in front of a General Tso.

That's my 'always on' rationalisation for leaving off the footswitch, very convenient since it's impossible to fit one in in any case.

I need to work more on my measuring skills. Managed the top oriented jacks but borked the DC jack fitment (not enough space). Plan is eventually to have all three on the top edge, but that's for another day.
