Rolling out the new builds, my next Phido Sound build is the Argand Plane, based on the EHX Small Stone, using the AionFX Sunstone PCB.
This is my first build on an AionFX pcb. The PCB layout is nice and the build directions are easy to follow (I am sure I am not the first to say that). I didn't make any modifications to the PCB build, only adding my 2nd rev PCB breakout for one of the footswitches. This is getting close to just right.
I like the sound of this pedal; as a keyboard player I can see that I could use this in synth effect chain. I'd love to be able to play the guitar well enough to need a real pedal board, but I've prepared a basic demo showing the filters capability. I've never demo'ed the original pedal, so I can't say I know how the range compares. My only point of reference is using a rack digital delay unit. This definitely goes from subtle sweep to whoosh to tremolo madness.
I really like the look of the metalllic candy green from Tayda - perfect for the psychedelic modulation effects.
This is still a beta-pedal build as I have to rework my graphics, but the next rev will be ready to go. In this case, I fixed the drill template, as the AionFX spacing is a little different than the PedalPCB typical, but didn't carry this over to my case print and so some of my control labels are invisible. As in my last build, I also didn't use outline/stroke correctly on my text in Affinity Design.
My next build should finish this weekend. I just have to mount the potentiometers and build my wiring harness.
