Question About Octave Diodes

I'm currently scrounging up parts for an Uberfuzz build and the OA90 replacements I ordered came in early. I tested them on my DCA75 and they came out to .531V and .605V. Was reading through old threads about diodes and was wondering if a difference of .074V was outside of the range of optimal difference for matching purposes?

And on a semi-related note, is matching or lack thereof much of a factor for clipping purposes?

the diodes in the superfuzz aren't part of the octave equation and are more about volume. they can be asymmetrical and you're not going to notice the difference. that said, the higher the Vf the louder the pedal will be.

They'll be fine.
Most of that measured Vf is due to diode resistance. You won't see anywhere near that Vf in the Uberfuzz because the current is lower.

If I remember correctly, Q4 and 5 generate most of the octave.

You are correct, sir! The trimpot is used to balance Q4 & Q5 for maximum octave up content.
