A couple things to get out of the way. I have been a die hard Green Russian fan since I was a teenager and saw the magic wood box and Tank sized green enclosure sitting on the top of the glass showcase at my local music store and couldn’t leave without buying it. Lawn mowing money came in clutch back then.
Then out of the blue our friend @MichaelW sent me a four pack of vintage TFK Bc239s with a note on the baggie saying “for big muff”. I decided to try out the Rams head flavor, and I have to admit that I was a moron. A moron because up until now I refused to try any other muff flavor as my love for the Green was locked in.
This thing has an articulation and clarity that makes my Green Russian sound like it’s under a blanket. Not sure if it’s the different components or the TFKs but it is so tasty I may have a muff back on my board instead of just off to the side as a every once in a while fun box.

Build wise this is one of the simpler builds once you pick the flavor you want. The key here was looking up the pinout on these TFKs as they are flipped vs regular 2n5088s.
