Hello everybody,
This pedal: https://www.surfyindustries.com/surfybearmetal
«The same specifications of the Fender® 6G15® reverb unit, replacing the tubes with JFET transistor technology.»
«Initially produced as a DIY kit, this was the schematic.» But discontinued. https://www.surfyindustries.com/faq-diy-kits

(Q1 transistor not labeled, but should be a BC557.)

This version, with the tremolo, includes extra controls: Mixer 1 and Mixer 2 swapped each other through a footswitch. (I'll pass over the optional external reverb tank connection.)
Here's the instruction from the official link.

Also Decay and Volume control has been added.
About the Volume, I heard someone tell that the reverb has a lot of volume, so that could be just a master volume placed somewhere to attenuate it when the reverb is at higher setting?
I have no hint about Decay control.

Here's the Ricochet (not 1:1) clone by Griffin Effect https://griffineffects.com/byo-pcbs/modulation/ricochet-pcb. But its R15 value is wrong, the right value is 1.5R.

PSU is always for me a problem when that is not the standard 9v Boss style. I have to find a 12v 1A, I guess. Polarity never mind, I mean, I could invert the wire on the DC jack.

I would like to build the circuit on veroboard, and insert all in one big enclosure, I'll see what kind. The circuit in an aluminum box to shield it for sure.

What do you think about a project like that?

Not sure the jfets would have enough current drive. Maybe I'm wrong. Mosfets would fs. Otherwise you could drive the springs with parallel opamps, BJTs or a dedicated pwr amp ic then include fets in the front end and feedback loop.

Now that I've looked a little closer. Mosfets are being used to drive the spring. The dwell control just seems level.

this one uses a TDA7052B to drive a mini accutronics tank.

there's a veroboard layout available for the above project (spaceman orion/hooke).
fits in a 1590J.
i reckon it sounds pretty good. (build thread w/ demos)

The Spaceman Orion/Hooke seems ok. I'm not sure it has the same presence and all the "wet" of the Surfybear.
Anyway, I would like something more similar to the Surfybear, and we have the basic schematic. I could even try to drawn a layout by myself.
But I'd like to consider some mods, too. Those extra controls, for example.

NE5532 will easily drive most reverb tanks, and plenty of schematics out there for full send/return circuits with all controls included.
