My pedal building has slowed down somewhat, a consequence of lack of parts, costs going up and playing more guitar!
But a new Epiphone Les Paul was a good excuse for a treble booster in the form of ROG Omega, which is a FET based, so not traditional at all. I’m still finding my way with it, but it really does seem to work rather nicely into a FET based overdrive pedal (Benson).
The fuzz is a classic silicon Fuzz Face, with what I guess are lower gain transistors than traditionally used in a silicon fuzz face, 92 and 106 Hfe. I do have a second board with BC182 transistors, but it was the lower gain ones that ended up being my preferred tone.
I’m thinking I need to explore Germanium versions of both of these designs.
