Kinda left field/not pedals, but awhile ago I came into a dismantled EV N/D767a, a dynamic microphone. Im considering putting it back together, but I guess I was gonna seek some input (heh). Because I've also discovered through my various dismantling a small, unidentifiable transformer, pulled from a separate XLR housing whose purpose was unknown. A pad maybe? Anyway, I've found some info about the microphone and the capsule which seems to be intact, but cant gleam anything electrical. I'm assuming that the capsule is just connected straight to the XLR without any intermediary electronics, but I also know that a transformer can really help along a low output mic level signal, like from a ribbon mic. So I guess I'm wondering if I can put this mystery transformer to use in repairing this mic, if it would have any effect, or just any information about this generic little transformer and a clever way I could use it for something, whatever it is.
The transformer is 1cm x 1.5cm, fits perfectly inside the EV's very narrow housing, and has no visible indicator as to which is the primary side. No idea of its past or function.
Heres a link to the mic manual
And the Element. Pretty sure i can just pop this into an XLR and call it a day but why not have some fun!
