Here she is. The true bypass Boss DS-2 by the acclaimed Schu-Tone.
This one gave me some fits. All on my end. There are quite a few resistors so it made using 1/4w ones a more tighter fit. I think going with the recommended 1/8w would have made things a tad easier. The only good thing about vertical resistors is that you can still see the ref des. And good thing bc I installed a few resistors in the wrong spots. I got all that squared away then went to plug in and got no sound. Troubleshooting turned out a bad footswitch. Replaced that and we were in business. That and I wired the LED backwards! After THAT, we were cooking.
Also to note, I built exactly to the BOM except I used 2N5457 instead of J201.
I mean, it sounds great. Just like a true bypass DS-2 would sound I imagine. I enjoy collecting pedals and since I'm a Nirvana fan, this is a must.
Great stuff @dan.schumaker
Thanks
