Following close on the heels of my Distortion + build.
The Sheepy Love Gape Drive is essentially a one knob Distortion +
It's based on the BMF Effects "Great Wide Open". From a quick perusal via Google, I see that they've built this as both a one knob and a 2 knob versions.
Comparing it side by side with the Dist + it's hard to tell any difference.
It's a cool, easy build pedal.
I wound up using Ge transistors instead of diodes. I have a couple of boxes of very low gain Ge PNP's that I don't have much use for.
So here and there, when I can fit them in, I've been using them as diodes. They're low Vf as diodes (~.300) and have sounded great wherever I've used them.
I do have some extra boards if anyone is interested. Just DM me.
