Shoe Pedals Savior Machine

+1 Definitely would like to hear this one. The manufacturer is actually Shoe Pedals.

Wow, this is cool. I didn’t even know this was a thing! After seeing the Looking Glass thread, i think the two could be related.

The Shoe Pedals guy collaborated with DOD on the Looking Glass, I believe he has said the circuit is based on the Savior Machine.
Possibly so. Btw I fixed the title. No longer says DOD 😂.
Would you say you could get all the tones of the savior machine from the looking glass?

Is this your pedal btw? would you be able to get a picture of the other side of the board? tracing this should be easy with that.

not my board. it's the only image i was able to find online from a Japanese craigslist type site. no chance guessing the layout huh?

No way to be accurate without the other side, unfortunately. Then we would need the values of the pots, caps, transistors, etc.

But the picture could give some clues as to the nature of the circuit. It is discrete, cascaded transistor stages with diode clipping. Switch is for the diodes.

Could be JFET based with those trimmers being used to bias each stage, think Fairfield Barbershop or SSBS Mini kind of thing. Tone controls can be anywhere in the circuit, together or separate, likely passive.

Anyone’s guess is as good as mine at this point, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out eventually!
