I would love to build a dual buffer similar to the GGG IC dual buffer but using the Cornish LD-1 circuit, or even better the option to switch between a few buffer option like the SA Zio.

That sounds awesome! My preference would be for unity gain, but maybe that could also be a build option.I had something like this drawn up a while back with a Klon and Cornish style buffer but thought it was a silly idea that no one would be interested in.
I'll dig it out and dust it off.
It allows you to place a buffer at the front and end of your pedals. Others can probably offer a more technical answer, but buffers in general help compensate for the tone suck from cables, jacks, and pedal components. What's the purpose of a dual buffer?
Since this is generally an always on effect you can save space and only use one power jack. Many people will mount these underneath their pedalboards. Why not just two buffers then instead of just one dual buffer?
Are you talking about a buffered loop with an input and output buffer? I built something like this with the GGG IC single buffer.Since this is generally an always on effect you can save space and only use one power jack. Many people will mount these underneath their pedalboards.
That's not what I had in mind but sounds like a good idea too. How do you like the GGG dual buffer? Are you talking about a buffered loop with an input and output buffer? I built something like this with the GGG IC single buffer.
I've been thinking about building one with an output buffer as well (to solve a separate issue). I have a couple of the GGG Dual buffer boards.
I also have a bunch of the PedalPCB Simple JFet Buffers. I ALSO have some of the GuitarPCB Buff n Blend boards. I'll probably wind up using one of these.
@PedalPCB I'd love to see the Dual Loop project with an option to add a buffer to one or both loops.
If @PedalPCB is interested, I could try to snap some pics to see if he can figure out what's going on in there.
I haven't built it yet, I've only used the single buffer. My loop only has the input buffer to the pedals in the loop are buffered but not on the output, which is true bypass. That's not what I had in mind but sounds like a good idea too. How do you like the GGG dual buffer?
That looks pretty cool, got a link? I can pretty much do that with @PedalPCB's Simple JFet buffer. They do the job and are super transparent.@MichaelW You seem to collect buffers, buster!
I've got one or two of each of the examples you mention. If you want to turn your PPCB Dual Looper into a buffered one, check out the Effects Layouts Storyboardist Micro Buffer, Klon-buffer on a jack.
@Ctrl4Smilerz I just took another look at the GGG schematic again for the single buffer, I actually would not need the Dual Buffer board, that's for doing Dual loops, which I don't need. I can rewire my current build linked above to have the buffer active in the loop and at the output with the Single Buffer board that's already in the box.I haven't built it yet, I've only used the single buffer. My loop only has the input buffer to the pedals in the loop are buffered but not on the output, which is true bypass.
Sorry, thought I'd posted the link. You can't beat the PPCB buffer for price (50¢) and versatility, but I do have a few of the ELS buffers ($4ea) for an entrepôt-box (patchbay) planned for my pedalboard. That looks pretty cool, got a link? Not sure going the route a Kion buffer is necessary for my needs. But I'm still experimenting a bit to see if I even need an output buffer.
I might be having a dirty power issue that I haven't ruled out. It's only with a certain combination of pedals in a certain configuration......but it's how I WANT it dang it.....and I want it to work......
That is pretty darn nifty. But also kinda busy. I like the simplicity and elegance of the Simple JFet buffers. The couple times I've used them they sound super transparent to me, which is what I'm after.Sorry, thought I'd posted the link. 50¢ vs $4...
I built one of these and there's a build report around here somewhere@MichaelW You seem to collect buffers, buster!
