Steiner Parker VCF - can it work?

Has anyone had success with this schematic?

The comments on the layout over at dirtboxlayouts have had trouble. So I have it on the breadboard. I get signal through on HP but no where else. Although Freq. doesnt affect anything.
Ive been through the breadboard for mistakes who knows how many times. Im 95% sure it all checks out. 2n3904 are matched at 340hfe.

Does anyone see a problem with the schematic that needs to be adjusted perhaps? EAE are so smart I hesitate to question it though. Throwing it out to the wisdom of diystompboxes....

Probably more people who have built a version of this circuit (albeit without the guitar-specific mods) over there.

Good thinking. I went cruising through synth schematics for this and am going to try one.

I don’t have the technical chops to help you troubleshoot this. But do post back here if you make any progress.

I’ve got two Steiner filters (in the form of a Matrixbrute and a Blue Lantern Steiner VCF module), and it would definitely be cool to have a (functional) pedal-ized version out there as well.

Roger that. Diystompboxes has some suggestions in the works. Im gonna try them today. If it comes together I will definitely update.
