SOLVED Stripboard Harmonic Percolator- dimed is below unity.

Hello. I have my first Harmonic Percolator that I whipped up last night. It sort of works. When it’s cranked, it’s about halfway below unity. When I switch to my hottest pickup and really dig in, it almost wants to get loud. It kind of makes me wonder if it’s misbiased or something. That, or maybe the diodes are clamping down too much?

These are just wild-ass guesses based on my limited experience. Rather than start swapping parts out based on a hunch, I thought I would see if someone would be willing to help me with diagnosis.

Here’s the layout I used, and then pics. If anyone could get me started on what to check, it would be greatly appreciated.

Could just be a cold joint or stray solder on the board. Would be a good idea to clean up the stripboard tracks with your iron and inspect the pot connections to be sure. Can you share voltages?

Solved. I had to twist the legs on Q1 and swap the Base and Collector.
