Tayda Print Review

Hi!

I'm getting ready for my first Tayda UV print and wanted to see if anyone could give it a once over before I pull the trigger.

Big thanks to @Fingolfen or the Steggo tutorial, it is super helpful!

I started with the @Pachyderm template (appreciate you sharing that though I can’t seem to tag you here) and moved it to the Tayda sample template.

I’m having Tayda handle the drilling, so I’ve removed all the drill guides from the design. The enclosure will be gloss light blue and I’m using 20mm knobs. Still on the fence about using a white footswitch washer, I think it might tie the design together nicely.

Thanks!

Did a quick check in Illustrator and it looks correct to me. The correct Roland swatch spot colors are in the correct layers and the layers are in the correct order. (You can skip the white washer.)

Curious observation: When I open your pdf in Acrobat, I can't see layers, but when I open it with Affinity Designer 2, I do see layers.

This is different behavior from my recent PDF, which I generated in Affinity Designer 2, following the specific instructions in Graphic Assets post by @Brett. When I follow the export instructions, I get a PDF file that opens in Adobe Acrobat with layers showing. That said, when I export from Affinity Designer in this way, the layer order is reversed, so I found I had to switch the order in Affinity Designer 2 to get the correct PDF order. I have attached one of my print pdfs here.It looks like afdesign files won't attach, or I would add that so you can see how my work looks in AD2.

I just received this print job back from Tayda today and the print order came out as I intended. There are some things I do need to fix, but that has more to do with some alignment issues, and appreciation for scale and spacing once it's on a pedal.

With the two factions now: Team Washer and Team Anti-Washer I’d get a washer tattoo to show my loyalty, but... needles? Yeah, no thanks. I can print a washer on there and call it my low-commitment “pedal tattoo.”
