Terrarium Input Low-Pass Filter

I've noticed some high frequency cut on my recent Terrarium build. I believe it is due to C7 (1nF), when used without a buffer before it. It looks like C7 acts with the guitar pickup to create a low-pass filter. Using a buffer before the Terrarium eliminates the high-cut.

I'm aware of the history of the R10/C10 filter on the output side, and I don't think this causes any audible frequency loss. But, is the C7 applied as a countermeasure for any known issue? Or, could I simply remove it? I checked the (now-discontinued) Daisy Petal schematic, and it does not have any filtering on the audio input buffer.

The C7 high cut may not be very noticeable when using a guitar amp since the speaker cuts the high frequencies. In my case, I was using the pedalpcb headphone amp to audition some cabsim code. (I'm attempting to rewrite the GuitarML Funbox/Mars IRs to work with Terrarium... It's kind of working, I'll post about it when I have it fully working.)
