Terrarium Rev 2 vs 2.35?

Does anyone know the difference between Terrarium Rev 2 vs 2.35, how important those differences are, and if v2 is able to be patched to 2.35?

I recently purchased a Terrarium PCB to work with a Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 and noticed the one that I received is different than the one pictured here.

After looking at the original Terrarium and the current version, it seems like my board is somewhere in between - the biggest differences I've noticed are the placement of a few resistors and an extra capacitor (C11) on the most-recent version.

Here's a pic at my board so far:

I'm just getting started with pedal building and DSP, any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey Testicana did you get it to work? that's what counts...
i had the same board and got confused with conflicting instructions and basically fried it.. (also totally missed the new cap next to SW1)
completely my fault but still badly documented..
wondering how it went for you..
best,
C.

Hey there! I asked customer support about it and they sent me a new board. That new board, however, was the same board.

I asked if documentation lagged behind production or vice versa and didn't really get an answer.

I lost steam for the project during the wait period and haven't gotten around to finishing my build yet. So I can't rightly answer your question yet.

I understand your frustration though and wish you the best!

It looks like your board is before Robert added a low pass filter to the terrarium circuit (see this thread) following an unfortunate update to the Daisy Seed hardware. Depending on your seed’s hardware revision, you might want to add a LP filter as well. [corrected below!] It’s frustrating that electro-smith basically broke a bunch of existing projects with a hardware revision, but it sounds like their downstream supplier stopped producing a particular part. But what can you do? These are small niche projects and suppliers change all the time.

Jfyi, “customer support” is the same guy who traces, designs pcbs, orders everything, runs the website and forum, shipping and receiving, etc etc. Please give him grace while he continues pumping out all the projects we ask him to make for us :)

It has the RC filter, it's that ugly out of place resistor sitting sideways on the right side below the caps.....

The only real difference is that VREF was given it's own filter cap.

The out of place resistor bugged me, so I moved things around and added the VREF cap at the same time.

There is absolutely no reason to patch or upgrade (or downgrade) as long as you have the RC filter (and you do). This was an OCD quirk more than a technical upgrade.

Adding to the confusion, I've gone back and forth at least twice between them.... however, there's really no advantage to one over the other.
