The secret to beautiful solder joints

1. Apply too much rosin flux
2. Solder away
3. Clean up the excess flux using alcohol, or even Goo Gone if you dare (that stuff melts steel beams!)
4. Marvel at the beautiful shiny joint
5. Don't open the window, or the alcohol or Goo Gone fumes might escape!

Shot manually with phone through the lens of a microscope. Hard to keep it centered and parallel. Especially with all those Goo Gone fumes around...

Yeah, I switched to hard liquor recently. So-called "no clean" flux made me do it. That sh!t is actually harder to clean than burned rosin flux, if you do want to clean it anyway (they say you don't have to, but it still looks ugly and sticky). Gotta be careful around some plastics though. It contains acetone, so it will melt some of the weaklings.
