This week on the Breadboard - FET / Germanium Boost

The boards for this came in today and I scrapped one together over my lunch break with a MMBF5457 and a higher gain 1N1304. The 5 minutes playing were really rewarding, what a lovely design. I look forward to getting into it again this evening!

The voltage measurements were in the same ballpark as your schematic. I don't think it makes sense to amend with a trimpot.

I will do a little revision on the board labeling, then will get it up on Github under CCL. Really appreciate the chance to share forward these gifts to the community.

Nice work on that PCB. A direct link to its Gerbers when they're available would be great! GitHub is still a navigation challenge for me.

I just built one of these with Mr Szukalski's PCBs and it sounds great! I used a 2N5457 and a Russian MP38 with an HFE in the 40s. My Casino loves it! I really like the middle position on the switch - the deepest sounding one. Would it be possible to make one of the thinner sounding ones more treble booster sounding? As you know I love that honking Rangemaster sound! I suspect it might affect the entire circuit but I'd love this circuit with a treble booster honk... :)

I'm looking into it.
