After getting reacquainted with Bill's Law I have this one working on my breadboard.
Most of my germaniuns are too low gain, but some of them sound very sweet

Most of my germaniuns are too low gain, but some of them sound very sweet

Mine works great, maybe on a strat it is a bit trebly with a MP38a of hfe 62. What your favourite hfe for this application?

I think 50 to 70 is a good range. If you want to cut the treble content a bit, consider increasing C5.
