Hey all,

Second pedal not working right off the bat and second thread I've started. No shorts, everything seems to be wired up correctly compared to the directions. The power works, LED is good but no sound with effect off or on. No sound period. I get the buzz if I touch the tip soldering point for both the input and output.

I'm so lost. I'm also getting discouraged because I'm 1 for 3 so far for pedals that aren't kits and I've screwed up 2 enclosures with crap drilling.

Please help! Thanks in advance.

I do my solder joints like that and don't have a problem, though I do drag the tip of my iron up the component legs (it's very sensual) to draw excess solder away from the joint first.

If you think about it there is more cross sectional area to provide support for the component inside the solder thru hole than there is on the face of the board.

One exception to this would be components that are subject to mechanical stress that are not secured to the enclosure, like some board mounted DC jacks. For those I would flood the whole area with solder

Anyway if you're not getting continuity on the other side of the footswitch, like Buddy suggested, that could be your problem right there.

For all the movement the resistors and caps make when they sit on my pedal board in my house and never move....

Anyway, I've now put in 3 different 3dpts with 0 change in the status. I've seriously given up. This is going on the shelf.
