Hey team. I'm trying to get an FV-1 working on a breadboard, but am having some trouble. I am building from the Arachnid schematic (page 3 of this link https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Arachnid.pdf) and am unable to get any sound from the circuit when the wet knob is fully turned.
I breadboarded this a few weeks ago and had trouble getting any wet sound, after going through all the traces I couldnt find any errors, so I ripped it all up and started again from scratch.
I have tried several different 32.768 kHz crystals (2 from Tayda and 2 from Jaycar) and crystal capacitor values of 15pf and 30pf.
I initially had the circuit set up with the 24LC32A chip, but since getting no sound I have grounded T0, S0, S1 and S2 to try and get an internal effect to play.
The LED (pin 5) turns on when I power the circuit, but does not illuminate at all while playing the guitar. It also illuminates slightly when I power off the circuit.
Is there an LED trouble shooting guide or a list of expected pin voltages floating around?
After setting this circuit up a second time and having it not work I am starting to think that there may be an issue with my chip (ordered premounted from PedalPCB). I cleaned the pins with isopropyl alcohol with the hope that might make a difference.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Im very much looking forward to having this circuit set up so I can start programming some effects.
Cheers, Ricki.
