I had another of these PCBs, so why not build it? I prefer the Dunwich take on this circuit (also with clean blend) for bass. The first Blood Letter, I gave to my drummer and they used with his other band in the studio, on a song, distorting synth sounds.
Anyway, the Blood Letter is based on the HM-2 and claims to bring a "brighter base tone and more presence", as well as a "less fuzzy and more natural feel to its distortion texture". Then there is a Mids control, a blend and a 3-way "response" switch "that changes the tone between Thick, Raw or Sharp".
It delivers as promised, I'd say, although I never played an HM-2, so I wouldnt really know, I guesss .... but, if you like the HM-2 you might like this version too.
Graphics are from a Japanese splatter movie (Tokyo Gore Police) and seemed to be fitting ... chainsaw and blood.
Red wires and fancy red aluminium knobs too.
