Hi all. Looking for some advice on a Violet Ram's Head build.
Recently picked up a an OG Caprid (Red version) for a decent price, which I like a lot, but was really looking for their Violet/Blue (mid 70's) version, based on description/comparison clips. Haven't played one, but the differences to the OG red sound more appealing - Not so smooth, gnarlier, more clarity, openness and higher gain. More distortion like.
What do you think would be the best circuit as a starting point for this build, using the Kitrae examples?
And what specific parts of the circuit would you play around with (socket) for experimentation (apart from transistors)?
I have a large selection of transistors to choose from and from what I've been seeing, a lot of Ram's Heads seem to have much lower HFE readings than we might expect in a BM, under 200.
