Wampler Phenom and Triumph

Wampler’s new “Collective” series of pedals, which are $99(!).

At that price I assumed Wampler was having these assembled overseas but all the ad copy says these are “Made in the USA” (which probably means BAD like the rest of their lineup?), so seemingly joining EQD and JHS in the “hundred dollar boutique pedals” game. I mean yeah at that price it’ll all be SMD and relatively low parts count, but that didn’t keep EQD’s Plumes from sounding pretty damn great.

I’m not terribly impressed by these demos (not bad but nothing special) but that’s how I usually feel about Sweetwater’s demos, not my style of riffage and not the sorts of tones I’d be trying to dial in.

The Triumph is an SD-1 / Bad Monkey style OD (haven’t heard the Bad Monkey mentioned in quite a while!)

The Phenom is like a JFET 5150 emulation and sounds *way* better in this demo than the Sweetwater one

Interesting design goals for a $99 pedal imho, easily could’ve just put out YATS (I mean I guess this sort of is, but a TS with a 3-band EQ is pretty unique, only other one I can think of is the Seymour Duncan 805?) and a straight-up Rat like JHS did
