The Sunflower is technically more versatile because it's transistor footprint is TO-5 and you can still build an NPN Sunface (Sandspur) on it by flipping the polarized components.
As a general note: You can omit the charge pump on the Sunflower and build it as an NPN unit by flipping all polarized components.
