What is the most powerful IC in the world, all categories included ?

Obvious answer would be xcvu37p, with its 35 billions transistors engraved inside it, of course. But maybe it's an old vintage thing already ?

Can you remind me what is a Field Programmable Gate Array, please ? Does it mean it can do whatever you programm it to do ?

Datasheet is a bit short on details, though.

Circuit diagram looks like an old video game :

Can't wait to see it combined with some FV-1 stompbox... a distortion with 35 billions transistors or so ? A bargain for 78500 euros.

How many transistors are there in a FV-1, by the way ?

Transistor quantity does not guarantee speed. Architecture is key. The new intel iCore processors not only have the fastest clock speed of any commercially available processor, but they are changing the way speed is defined by measuring in mT (megaTransfers) per second instead of just Ghz. This because they are using broadband multi-frequency data transfer technology.

I just spent a week researching the latest and greatest, and have purchased the components to build a new computer. The *closest* I can find to the one I'm making sells for $7800, and it's DDR5 memory operates at 5600 instead of 6000, which is what I bought. (The total for the components was about $1250).

In my analysis I decided the best 'bang for the buck' was the i5 13600kf. But this (see link below) is the fastest at almost 6Ghz. btw, the 13th gen iCore processors were released on 10.21.22, so *brand new*

Right, and the speed is better than the i5 and i7, but really not enough to justify the higher price. That's why I personally went with the i5 13600kf. It does not have on board graphics, which is a waste of money because I'd still want a screamingly fast graphics processor, but is still really fast. The motherboard I got takes M.2 ssd's which are about four times faster than normal ssd's, I'm predicting nearly instant push button to login prompt, lol.... crossing fingers, we'll see. My i5 was on sale from 'Antonline' on eBay for $279. It's now gone up to $296. Going price is about $330-350.
