Wire direct instead of using Breakout Board for Kliché Mini

I have seen this pedal wired without the Breakout Board. Does this work and is there any difference wiring it this way.
Also what's going on with 6 the leads coming out of the pcb.

Thanks I saw that in the docs. My board looks a little different just want to make sure.
